Toya Bush-Harris of Bravo TV’s Married to Medicine has roots in Detroit, yet she embraced the family-centered life she has now transplanted to Atlanta. Her career-loving, independent spirit has quieted since becoming a wife and mother: A shift happened when I decided to marry Eugene and become a mother. This was intentional. My focus during this season is my family.

The first five years of a child’s life are formative and extremely impressionable. Strong family bonds are formed early on, and a child gets a sense of who they are and how they relate to the world around them. Being a stay at home mother while my children are young will allow us to intimately shape their psyche.

Being primarily a stay at home mother has been a choice. Having numerous years climbing the ladder while obtaining a college degree, she is using the expertise and training to play an active role in both of her son’s education.

Having had experience as a teacher, my hope is that I can continue where the teacher has left off. As a mother and former educator my goal is for my sons to use their classroom experience and my reinforcement as a “Classroom for life.” A Wife and Mother, With A purpose and a Plan!
